Richard Jefferson scored 32 points and rookie Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 17, making up for a missed chance in regulation and rallying the Milwaukee Bucks to a 112-104 overtime victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Mbah a Moute, a second-round pick, missed a shot that would have won it at the buzzer after Milwaukee overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Hawks stay perfect as Hornets lose first (AP)

Joe Johnson scored 24 points and the Atlanta Hawks made 12 3-pointers to stay perfect on the young season while handing the New Orleans Hornets their first loss, 87-79 on Wednesday night. Reserve Flip Murray added 14 points for the Hawks (3-0), hitting a pair of 3s in the fourth quarter, including one as the shot clock expired during a 14-2 surge that put Atlanta in the lead for good.

Wade, Chalmers lead Heat over Sixers (AP)

Dwyane Wade scored 29 points, Mario Chalmers set a franchise record with nine steals, and the Miami Heat scored 12 straight points in the fourth quarter to pull away and beat the Philadelphia 76ers 106-83 on Wednesday night. Wade added seven rebounds and six assists. The Heat forced 26 turnovers — matching the most in the NBA this season — and moved to 2-0 at home for the first time since 2004.

Knicks top Bobcats, spoil Brown’s return (AP)

The New York Knicks held on to give Larry Brown another tough night at Madison Square Garden. Zach Randolph had 25 points and 13 rebounds, Nate Robinson scored all of his 24 points in the first half, and the Knicks ruined their old coach’s first game back in New York with a 101-98 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.
