Playing without injured starters Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins, the Celtics became the first team in the NBA to reach 40 wins with a 104-97 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Boston (40-9), which finished last season with a 24-58 record, plans to save any celebrations for the postseason.
