Coming back from a winless trip to start the season, the Kings used Kevin Martin’s 27 points to win their third straight game Sunday night, pulling away in the second half to defeat the struggling Golden State Warriors 115-98.
Chauncey Billups is learning on the job. Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets keep winning. Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points, Billups had 16 points and 10 assists and the Nuggets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 100-90 on Sunday night. Billups, who came to Denver last week in a deal that sent Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons, said he’s still getting used to his new teammates.
Allen Iverson was welcomed to the Motor City with a standing ovation so loud that the public-address announcer couldn’t be heard. Joe Johnson scored 25 points and the Atlanta Hawks came from behind after a late Oklahoma City run to beat the Thunder 89-85 Sunday night and remain undefeated. Johnson hit a right-handed runner to give Atlanta an 82-80 lead with 2:19 to play, then added a two-handed runout jam to extend it.
